Vacancy for Graduate Scheme - Quantity Surveyor

Location Elstree
Sector Miscellaneous
Contact Kate Murray

Are you looking for a graduate scheme where you will join a development programme which is the starting point for a wealth of opportunities that could lead almost anywhere in the McNicholas group? If so read on.

We are currently recruiting for our 2017 Graduate programme and are looking for x2 Graduate Quantity Surveyors to join our team.

As Graduate Quantity Surveyors you will assist our project teams in commercially managing various design and build construction contracts within the Rail & Civils sectors with a turnover in excess of £40m.

The Quantity Surveyor Graduate Scheme is aimed at gaining experience and knowledge across a broad spectrum of projects. This will initially be achieved through placements within a number of key functions within the Company, including tendering and procurement, as well as involvement on operational projects where candidates will have the opportunity to gain knowledge and develop under the management of a Senior Quantity Surveyor.

This will be supplemented as necessary through external learning focussing on contract types e.g. NEC contracts, risk management and dispute avoidance, as well as internal development routes.
The graduate scheme also incorporates fully funded membership of RICS, ideally leading to Chartership.

An ideal opportunity for a motivated self-starter keen to pursue a quantity surveying career. A mentor will also be appointed to assist and support the candidate. To apply for a role as a graduate Quantity Surveyor, you need to be in your final year of university and be expecting or have gained at least a 2.2.

Due to the nature of this role, holding a full UK driving licence would be advantageous to your application.

What is the next Step?

Recruitment will begin in January with successful candidates being invited to take part in telephone interviews throughout March/April and assessment centres held in May. Successful candidates will then join us in early September.
