Are you looking for a graduate scheme where you will join a development programme which is the starting point for a wealth of opportunities that could lead almost anywhere in the McNicholas group? If so read on.

We are currently recruiting for our 2017 Graduate programme and are looking for x2 Graduate Civil Engineers to join our team.

Here at McNicholas our engineers don't conform to a type, but they do share some common qualities. To succeed in the role, you need to be enthusiastic about civil engineering and the contracting side of construction, which you will probably have shown in some form of experience. Good people skills and the ability to get things done are also important, as is strong commercial understanding.

As a graduate civil engineer you will play a key role in supporting the Project teams in managing the day to day running of operations. You will operate and promote a high standard of health and safety and environmental compliance, carry out setting out duties accurately and on time, provide engineering input and expertise to our installation teams, ensure quality control requirements are met and recorded in accordance with the customer specification and support the overall achievement of  successful delivery of our project works.

You will be give the support you need to become a member of the Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE). We will help you complete your professional review, ensuring that you get guidance from your line manager and a technical expert who will become your mentor.

Our ICE-accredited development programme will give you the opportunity to grow your career to the highest levels in the business. And, importantly, you could choose to take either a technical career path or a management one.

To apply for a role as a graduate civil engineer, you need to be in your final year of university or have completed a MEng, BEng, or Bsc degree in civil Engineering. You must be expecting or have gained at least a 2.2.

Due to the nature of this role, holding a full UK driving licence would be advantageous to your application.

What is the next Step?

Recruitment will begin in January with successful candidates being invited to take part in telephone interviews throughout March/April and assessment centres held in May. Successful candidates will then join us in early September.
